Wednesday August 1st Commissioner Bruce Roberts held a first Tele-Town Hall Meeting!
I was invited to join the Tele-Town Hall by phone and was pleased with the discussion of the future of Fort Lauderdale! Issues addressed were bringing back the glory of Fort Lauderdale, regarding the Fort Lauderdale Swimming Hall of Fame, our roads, parks, better drainage, and slowing traffic down! Also discussed was the absence of lighting on Fort Lauderdale Beach favoring turtles over human safety, even after “turtle-approved” lighting was installed, yet it remains DARK on Fort Lauderdale Beach! Many people feel unsafe walking that section of the beach. Commissioner Roberts stated it was a fact that he believes there is a line that must be drawn where the safety of citizens is upheld, and we can promote the health of wildlife, but we must amintain the safety of the citizens!
Over 1000 participant citizens joined in on the call. It is the wave of the future. Polling questions were asked. Citizens questions and Citizen complaints were noted with the ability for follow-up conversations directly with the commissioner! This was truly and hour well invested!
Commissioner Bruce Roberts truly interacted with citizens and questions and maintained that he does not want to see Fort Lauderdale go into the red with its budget issues! That is of great importance to citizens! You can participate in future town-halls by calling into 855-269-4484 on the scheduled times and to know when these events will be held please go to and check the schedule for up-coming Tele town-hall events by going to the EVENT-Calendar! More tele-town halls are coming up in July and August ! Follow them on Twitter
We appreciate the interaction by the elected city representation of Bruce Roberts in taking the time to fulfill this local need! Citizen voices need to be heard so mark your calendars for the next Fort Lauderdale Tele-Town Hall Event!
